Hello, my name is Linda Liddell and I am a counsellor working in the Winchester area where I have a small private practice. I have a designated room in my home where I see clients and I can be flexible if a client cannot commit to weekly sessions. I have worked as a counsellor for over 7 years and before that I worked as a social worker with children and families dealing with a wide range of issues. My aim with my clients is to enable them to experience release from the issues they are experiencing and once they have, to maintain it. I use an integretive approach which combines a psychodynamic insights with cognitive behaviour therapy and spiritual direction. This means that exploring past relationships and their impact on your life now can be part of the counselling experience along with using some of the techniques from cognitive behaviour therapy. Insights can then be gained and choices made about how to move forward. As a christian cousellor it can be helpful to look at how your faith impacts the issue, either positively or negatively and reflect on what adjustments may need to be made. All these approaches are tailored to the clients needs and we would work jointly on establishing aims and goals.

Training, qualifications and experience
Diploma in Social Work 1977. I worked for 12 years with families facing a range of difficulties in the community and with their parenting abilities. I worked in the field of adoption and fostering which included court work.

I worked voluntarily as a counsellor with The Olive Branch Christian Counselling Service while I was doing my degree in Theology and Counselling at London School of Theology. I also did some training with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation before doing my degree. I have been operating privately as a counsellor for 3 years.
